Manu'iwa Outrigger is Connecticut's only outrigger canoe club. We are a volunteer-driven, non-profit educational organization committed to providing the safe environment, instruction, equipment, and camaraderie needed to enjoy the sport of outrigger canoeing.
Manu'iwa's philosophy focuses on perpetuating the Hawaiian culture and spirit through outrigger canoeing. We work hard to combine an appreciation for family, nature, community, and competitiveness while having lots of fun. While we focus a large part of our efforts in competing in an east coast point-series, we welcome all paddlers.

Our team practices begin in April and extend into October or beyond, weather permitting. Practice is at 6:00 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays so if you’d like to give it a try please email us at ManuiwaOC and we’ll confirm everything. Many paddlers practice throughout the week when it is convenient to them and we have club boats to enable this. We also frequently do one-to-one training sessions with Novices to help them gain experience and confidence.
We have spare personal flotation devices / life-jackets but if you have your own then please bring it along and remember - dress to get wet, have flip flops and a towel in the car!
